DG STACK EMISSION
Why do we need DG STACK EMISSION?
DG STACK EMISSION has become a major reason of concern for environmentalists, as Diesel Generators emit high levels of air and noise polluting elements. The reasons behind DG STACK EMISSION check are as follows-
- A typical standby diesel generator produces 25-30 pounds of nitrogen oxides per megawatt hour of power generated. Prolonged exposure to this can lead to health hazards.
- Diesel emission levels of NOx, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons contribute to poor air quality. The smell coming from the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons causes cancer.
- Every generator operator needs to comply with the standards set by the State Government’s Pollution Control Board, with specified limits for various gaseous elements formed.
- Exposure to diesel fumes leads to coughing, sore throat and eyes, headaches, nausea, respiratory issues, and lung inflammation.
- Nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions contribute to smog formation which increases the risk of asthma which is dangerous to human health.
Fine particulate matter (PM) in diesel exhaust can bypass the body’s natural defences which cause cardiovascular illnesses, leading to premature death.
