INDOOR LUX LEVEL CHECK
What is Lux level?
Lux is a measurement of the overall intensity of light within an environment for any given area or distance from the source or the amount of light in an environment perceived by the human eye. In other words, lux is a unit of measurement of brightness, or more accurately, illuminance.
Why do we need to check Lux level?
Lux level checking using Lux Meters is important as it is used to check whether the brightness of a room is enough to meet any rules designed to protect workers from suffering damage to their eyesight. Using a lux meter takes into account the size of the room in a way that simply measuring the intensity of the light source in lumens would not. The measurement of light intensity with a lux meter is becoming increasingly important in the workplace due to safety concerns of the people associated with it.
How can we measure LUX Level?
Lux Meters are used for measuring lighting or illumination or brightness of an environment. It specifically measures the intensity with which the brightness appears to the human eye. This is different than measurements of the actual light energy produced by or reflected from an object or light source. A lux meter works by using a photo cell to capture light which then converts the light to an electrical current and by measuring this current allows the device to calculate the Lux level of the light it captured. The Lux level varies depending on the light’s intensity and distance.
